Listing Policy
What sort of torrents get listed on AnimeSuki and what kind does not? This page tries to explain in detail what kind of torrents can be found on AnimeSuki.
Anime only
It may seem obvious, but AnimeSuki will only list Japanese animation, not manga (comics), anime related music or games. This also excludes the listing of anime music videos or video game trailers.

On occasion AnimeSuki staff may choose to list live action (non-anime) shows on the site. To qualify a live action show needs to be based on a recent popular anime or manga, where "recent" is from the past 15 years or so, and "popular" means it's reasonbly well known among either the Western and/or Japanese fan community (ie: not obscure).

Note that this more specific rule for live action shows went into effect in July 2006 and does not affect live action shows that were already added to the site before that time.

Unlicensed only
AnimeSuki will not list anime that has been licensed in North America. If a title is already listed when it is licensed it will be removed promptly. For an overview of titles which have been recently licensed see the License Database. We are aware that certain anime is also availabe on DVD with English subtitles or dub in regions other than North America, however we will continue to list fansubs of those anime as long as they meet the other criteria on the site.

English subtitles only
At the present moment AnimeSuki will only list fansubs with (at least) English subtitles. Although torrent links also exist for fansubs in other languages, AnimeSuki will not list those, mainly because keeping track of what has been licensed in those other languages is a daunting task (apart from being confusing for visitors who only know English).

Fansubs only
AnimeSuki will only list fansubs where some effort went into the translation. So-called fansubs which had their subtitles ripped from a legal DVD (no matter what region) will not be listed. Fansubs for which legal subtitled DVDs exist should be proven to be real fansubs (not subtitle rips) before they will be added to the site.

No raw or dubbed anime
AnimeSuki will not list anime that has no subtitles or anime which is not in it's original language.

BitTorrent links only
It may seem obvious, but as AnimeSuki is about BitTorrent, we'll not link to any other means of downloading anime, such as HTTP or FTP.

No parodies
At the present moment AnimeSuki will only list anime which (for the most part) is seriously translated. Any "pure" parody fansubs will not be listed, although it is still possible some anime listed contains jokes or other brief segements clearly not seriously translated.
